Our story

Rooted in Montana, devoted to women

Great Falls Midwives was founded on a simple belief: every woman deserves a provider who truly knows her name, her history, and her goals.

Great Falls Midwives team

Who we are

How we began

Great Falls Midwives grew out of a shared frustration with rushed appointments, fragmented care, and the feeling that patients were just numbers in a system. Our founder — a certified nurse-midwife with deep roots in Montana — wanted to build something different.

We opened our doors in Great Falls to offer the kind of care we wished existed: unhurried, relationship-centered, and deeply respectful of each woman's autonomy. From annual wellness visits to the tender first weeks of new motherhood, we show up fully — every time.

Today we serve women across the Great Falls area and surrounding communities, and we remain proudly independent. That independence means our decisions are always guided by what's best for our patients — nothing else.

Our philosophy of care

Relationship first

We believe the therapeutic relationship is itself a form of medicine. We take time to know you — not just your chart.

Evidence-based practice

Every recommendation we make is grounded in current research and clinical best practices. We explain our reasoning and welcome your questions.

Shared decision-making

You are the expert on your own life. We bring the clinical knowledge; together we make decisions that align with your values and goals.

Whole-person care

Physical health doesn't exist in isolation. We consider your emotional wellbeing, social context, and life circumstances in every visit.

Meet your midwife

You'll see the same face at every visit — that's intentional.

Adriann Lewis, DNP, APRN-CNM

I'm a Certified Nurse Midwife from Great Falls, Montana, with a passion for caring for women and families through some of life's most meaningful moments. I earned my doctoral degree from Frontier Nursing University and graduated with my Nurse-Midwifery degree in 2024. My areas of focus include women's health, postpartum mood disorders, and couplet care, with a special interest in supporting both moms and babies as they begin their journey together. I believe compassionate, evidence-based care can make a lasting difference during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Outside of my work, I've been married for 19 years and am the proud mom of four wonderful children. My family keeps life busy, meaningful, and full of adventure — and reminds me every day why caring for families is so important to me.
